And the 2022 WOW! World Literacy Reading Challenge Champions are…
(25 May 2022) The Pictou-Antigonish Regional Library, host of the 2022 World Literacy Championship is pleased to announce this year’s winners. The 2022 World Literacy Championship wrapped up in early April. This year 12 schools competed in the challenge. With a total of 2,937 students participating. In all 296,496 books were read at the Elementary School Level and 5,341383 pages were read at the Junior High and the High School Levels.
The Winners are:
- Elementary Level Champions:
- Gold - Glace Bay Elementary School
- Silver - Dr W.A. MacLeod Consolidated School
- Bronze - Baddeck Academy Elementary School
- Junior High School:
- Gold - Baddeck Academy Junior High School
- Silver - Cabot Education Centre Junior High School
- Bronze - Breton Education Center Junior High School
- High School
- Gold - J.L. Ilsley High School
- Silver - Cabot Education Centre Senior High School
- Home School Division
- Gold - Angela’s Home Schooling Program
Congratulations to all the students who participated. Banners will be presented to the winning schools this Spring. The 2023 World Literacy Championship will begin in November 2022.
