And the 2023 WOW! World Literacy Reading Challenge Champions are… 
 
(26 April 2023) The tallies are in, and the books have been counted. It’s another successful year for the sport of reading! From November 1, 2022 until April 1, 2023 – bookmarks were busy and the pages were flipping by as WOW! participants read a whopping total of 29,691 books at the Elementary school level and 1,490,268 pages at the Middle school and High school level. 
 
The Pictou-Antigonish Regional Library is pleased to announce this year’s winners:
  • Elementary School Champions: Dr. W.A. MacLeod Consolidated Elementary School.
  • Middle School Champions: Cabot Education Centre Junior High School
  • High School Champions: J.L. Ilsley High School
  • Home School Champions: Angela’s Home School
  • Special Literacy Award of Excellence: Cabot Education Centre Senior High School
Congratulations to all the students who participated! Banners will be presented to the winning schools in the near future.  And a heartfelt ‘thank you’, to all the teachers, educators and community sponsors who support and participate in the reading competition.
