(26 April 2023) The tallies are in, and the books have been counted. It’s another successful year for the sport of reading! From November 1, 2022 until April 1, 2023 – bookmarks were busy and the pages were flipping by as WOW! participants read a whopping total of 29,691 books at the Elementary school level and 1,490,268 pages at the Middle school and High school level.
The Pictou-Antigonish Regional Library is pleased to announce this year’s winners:
- Elementary School Champions: Dr. W.A. MacLeod Consolidated Elementary School.
- Middle School Champions: Cabot Education Centre Junior High School
- High School Champions: J.L. Ilsley High School
- Home School Champions: Angela’s Home School
- Special Literacy Award of Excellence: Cabot Education Centre Senior High School
Congratulations to all the students who participated! Banners will be presented to the winning schools in the near future. And a heartfelt ‘thank you’, to all the teachers, educators and community sponsors who support and participate in the reading competition.
